How green are your fingers? 

At In Any Event UK we are always looking ahead to the next big event.  With Easter behind us we know Halloween is only a few months away.  In Any Event UK are offering free pumpkin seeds to customers who would like to enter our green competition.

Pumpkin Seeds

Pumpkins are huge orange fruits ideal for Halloween decoration or the show bench.  Delicious in pies and soups.

Sowing

Sow seeds singly in 75mm (3") pots if seed and cutting compost and cover with 19mm (3/4") of compost.  Place in a propagator on a windowsill or greenhouse (or cover and leave in a warm area).  Maintain a temperature of 20-25 degrees C (69-78 degrees F) and keep moist until the seeds have germinated.  Seeds can also be sown directly outside in to finely raked, moist, warm soil allowing 2 seeds per station.

Aftercare

Seedlings in pots can be planted into their final positions after the risk of frost has passed, allowing 120cm (4") between plants each way.  Seedlings in the soil should be thinned to leave the strongest seedling at each station.  Restrict fruits to 3-4 pe rplant and water and feed regularly.
